Wedding Day Transportation

A fun way to spice up your festivities is to explore unique forms of transportation for your day of nuptials. There are so many possibilities outside of your own vehicles. Here are a handful of ideas to choose from … or to at least get you thinking of your own one-of-a-kind mode of transport. (Listed alphabetically)

By Air – the sky’s the limit

  • Helicopter
  • Hot air balloon
  • Small plane

By land – two wheels, four wheels, animals and more

  • ATVs
  • Bicycle pedicab
  • Bicycles – decorated beach cruisers are so cute!
  • Chartered/VIP bus
  • Golf cart (wedding on a golf course, park or vineyard)
  • Horse drawn carriage
  • Horses (horse lovers, barn wedding)
  • Jeep convertible
  • Limousine – stretch or regular
  • Motorcycles
  • Motorcycle with Side car
  • Old-fashioned/vintage car
  • Pickup truck (for small town or country couples…or just couples that love their truck!)
  • School bus – for high school sweet hearts, bridal party made up of college/high school buddies
  • Sports car
  • Tandem cycle – bicycle built for two
  • Taxi
  • Tractor
  • Trolley or cable car

By Water – make your personal love boat

  • Ferry
  • Gondola
  • Paddle boat
  • Riverboat
  • Speedboat
  • Yacht

Whichever you choose, be sure to decorate, decorate, decorate! You can embellish just about anything with “Just Married” signs, tulle, flowers, streamers, bells, bows, garland, ribbon, cans, wedding decals, washable window markers and more!

The possibilities are endless; your choice of transportation (should you use something other than your own vehicles) should be selected based on several factors.

  • Will you be needing your transportation to the ceremony, to the reception and then from the reception to your hotel, honeymoon or airport?
  • Who would you like the transportation for? Will it be just for you and your groom or will you use it for the bridal party and even you/your groom’s parents?
  • Is the transportation just for show and fun? Or will you truly need dependable transportation to and from distant locations?
  • Where are your festivities located? Whether you’re having your celebration at a golf course, in the heart of a large city or on the beach will inspire, but also inhibit, different transportation options.
  • What is the theme of your wedding? Does it have an elegant or country, hometown-feel? The theme of your wedding should play a role in your transportation choice.
  • And, of course, budget!

Just remember that, whether you’re going for fun, crazy, romantic, classic or bold, there’s something out there that’s perfect for your special day. So, get moving!
