The ring

Ladies can't help but feel that the engagement ring is a symbol of many sorts -- his commitment to you, your commitment to him, your futures together...It's a lot of meaning in one piece of jewelry. Which means, for a lot of women, that it better be nice!

Now, please keep in mind that I'm not some materialistic, money-loving, diamonds-are-my-best-friend-type of girl; I just appreciate when men purchase a nice engagement ring for the one woman that they have asked to be their lifetime helpmate. I don't think there's anything wrong with that!

Anyway, I've heard a handful of crazy statistics about how the ring should cost the man the equivalent of X number of paychecks. I've seen engagement rings that were costly, consisting of a huge diamond solitaire; I've seen others that were not so expensive and made of unique looking stones.

I, as with many women, feel that the thought is key. But, also like many woman, feel that cheap (in this case) is unacceptable!

Wow thanks christine. You teared my eyes reading your post however it was a refreshing and heart beating. I came to realized how really important is the ring to a wedding day especially to my bride.
