With this tattoo, I thee wed

I have some family friends that have their wedding rings tattooed on. This isn't the first that I've heard of this, as I think there's probably a celebrity or two who also have had this done. I'm not sure if I like the idea, not because of the divorce rate (though that does stand out in my mind, as it probably does in yours), but because I'm more traditional, I guess. But, you can have the tattoo under the typical ring.

What are your thoughts? Would you and your soon-to-be consider tattoo wedding bands?
