As we go through the many steps to plan our wedding, we often look for ways to save money without cutting too many corners. One way to get some of your essentials at a great price ($1 to be exact) is to check out your local dollar store (Dollar Tree is the store I've used).
I realize that the number one concern is to not have your wedding decor look cheap, but keep in mind that there are a handful of basic items that won't differ in appearance or quality whether they are purchased at a high-end specialty shop or at a discount dollar store.
And, believe it or not, dollar stores often have a huge selection of wedding-related things, from bachelorette party favors to entire reception table ensembles. Some items that I’ve seen at Dollar Tree include:
Candleholders, votives and vases
Cases of bubbles
Ribbon, garland and tulle
Fabric rose petals
Favor bags and boxes
‘Just Married’ vehicle decals
Invitations (blank for printing your own)
Wedding/Shower ‘Thank You’ cards
…and much more. In fact, at some locations I’ve even seen cake-toppers and ring bearer pillows.
So be sure to take advantage of the frugal resources around you...because there’s no good reason to spend extra money on things like napkins and candles when you could be saving it for aspects of the wedding that really make a statement – such as your gown!
It is really a challenge to prepare for your own wedding but hey you're happy right so no problem! I was just looking around for wedding cardmaking ideas that I can use for my invitations since I want to make it look more of a DIY wedding.
