Making Something Out Of "Nothing"
Post Making Something Out Of "Nothing"

I remember walking into the place that was supposed to be my reception site and thinking: is this a rec. center? All my eyes could seem to focus on were the raised basketball goals, the random air hockey and ping-pong tables in the center of the room, and the folded volleyball net against the wall furthest away from me.

I wanted to run and not look back. I began to think that the best part about this place was the price. And then the old adage, "you get what you pay for" crept into my brain. But what I didn't see was the beauty within.

When future brides have their minds set on how their wedding should look--from the ceremony to the reception--all too often they are disappointed if even one detail falls outside of their dream. This makes it difficult for them to focus on alternate ways to ensure their dream wedding becomes a reality. So, I have compiled some steps to take if your budget, timing, family members, future spouse, or friends cause you to miss out on a piece of your dream:

1) Be honest with yourself about the reality of the day, and how this measures up to your expectations.

2) Be open to the possibility of mistakes, missteps, and mishaps. The three M's will surely find their way to your big day.

3) Explore different possibilities and angles.

4) Always have a plan B. You don't wish the worse to happen, but you'll be prepared if it does.

These 4 steps can get any bride started on their way to a stress-free celebration!
